Performances for the earth
View Gallery
Earth Elegy was a small, processional public art performance presented in January 2024 alongside Karrawirra Pari/ Torrens river by the convention center in Tarndanya/Adelaide. A group of performers walked behind a lead performer in a slow processional movement. Each of us while walking sought to create a space of sorrow- for the earth, hope- for the future and mystical connection to the environment around us. Each step was a marked moment in time and a pause embedded with ellagic sensation.
Earth call is a series of performances that are each an elegy or laments for the world. Each performance is an intervention in time, a memorial to passing moments, a looking back to what was and a calling for what is to become. Over the year of 2024, each performance will use motion, time and the elements of wind, air and water to deify the connection we have to the earth. The performances will present acts of tending, care and symbolic action towards the earth and environment.

Earth Call:
A Coronach in Three Parts
Amongst the misty trees and bushes of Ferny Creek reserve, during the Performance festival, HILLSCENE LIVE 2024, a magical moment was transpiring. The artist, Emiko, aided by their trusted helpers, became the Earth.
" Earth Call - Messages to the Earth, a Coronach in Three Parts' weaves magic into the everyday, occupying the liminal space between life and death, air and earth, ground and underground. It presents a creative response to the critical state of our environment, urging a profound connection between humanity and the natural world." Bluzal Feild
