The Holding
The Holding was an interactive performance that explored the creation of a space embodied with sacredity, ritualism and mystical energy. The Holding asked the audience to consider what a space of healing looks like today- what shapes it, who holds it, what informs it?
The Holding responds to the nihilism present in much of contemporary life. The nuclear clock has moved forwards, the seas are rising and can not be held back, food is running out, wars are erupting, and world leaders are imploding. Where does that leave you and me?
Entering the space of The Holding is to enter a moment of quiet, enveloped in compassion, covered in gentle words, free floating in a place of love, here you can, for a moment, place worries aside and be present in a single moment of grace, guided by your Holding creator and host, Emiko Artemis.

The Holding
You emerge, tightly coiled, from your containment of water.
Face to the sky, hair glistening,
Water running in rivulets along your face and neck
The sun a kiss, the air a dream of flying.
This is universal love.
Your neighbor told you a secret today.
Her words were shaped like a meringue,
Light, dense and sweet.
Her breath smelled of sandalwood as she spoke.
She whispered her secret in your ear
Right at the place where your hair sat curled,
Freshly combed after washing.
Her eyes were watery as she spoke and
her voice a drill into your skull.
Birds were singing as you looked down at the soft sorrel by your feet,
Toes sinking into green mounds,
As your neighbor spoke, you felt the coolness of the day
and you found yourself longing for spring and the sight of rabbits bounding-
Quick, fast, silvery.
You are home now, the ocean behind you,
its memory retained in salt crystals embedded in your clothes
Your skin is smooth as you take your neighbor’s hand.
Come, you say. I have a cosy room, where a fire is set.
Its walls are yellow and we will listen to Vivaldi.
We will eat nougat together and talk of the future.
Together you step over coloured puddles that hold dreams and hopes
You look up and see kite traveling overhead,
Stealth wings beaingt a transmutation of joy,
Feathers breathing song across the cloudy sky.
Our mouths whisper axioms of love.
You are illuminated by the loving light of the universe
Your heart is open to the music of life
You are basking in the light of love
You are heard, you are known, you are loved
Life is an adventurous journey, and you are its compassionate author
Your kindness will ensure the joys that arrive
Beauty is around you, beauty is within you
There is a kindling of love that is ever growing within you
A tumble is an enveloping into love
You are a gem that shines brightly
Your presence invigorates all around you with joy and happiness
Be alive with the vibrant energy of creativity that surrounds you
You are being held in the compassionate embrace of divine love
The fragrance of divinity is a scent made especially for you, beath it in and welcome the love
Open your hear for there is a message of love that is yours
Your light shines in even the most darkest of places
As you rock gently in the cradle of love your soul is blossoming
Your inner self is fill of the colours of the rainbow and they are shinning with potential
As you look into your eyes you will see the love that rests there
You are the immanence of immanence, sheer power, utter beatitude
Unbind your heart, unfurl your wings and fly
Your past self honors, you, your future self admires you, be all that you are right now
Each moment is your moment, live it with love
You are the sun and the moon, the land and the sea, the water and the wind, the fire and the light,
you are divine
You are made of stars, shine bright with all your might
Just as diamond is formed under pressure, you are made precious from your time in this world
Glow within, glow without, glow forwards, glow backward, glow with the infinity that is you
Move into the love that is awaiting you
Look up to the cosmic love that surrounds you, look into the life force that drives you
Take time to know yourself, you are infinitely knowable
You are flowering into the most beautiful creation
See each moment in beauty find the gold that runs through all
how wondrous you are
