DAWN EGRESS

Dawn egress is a performance in which I enacted the feelings associated with home, homelessness, and selfhood. It is not uncommon to be without a home unfortunately and for many people in this situation, a tent is the closest dwelling to a home there is. When you are without a home, everything is exposed, you are vulnerable in numerous ways. It can feel as though there is a constant dance between leaving your place of homelessness and returning. This environmental space can become your psychic space over time as the social layers that come through everyday interactions are whittled away until one day, you may realise you no longer feel apart of the social world.  A new dawn emerges and you must find a way to begin.
